Connect Slack in Spectra
In Spectra, open Alert channels and choose Connect with Slack — you're redirected to Slack to authorize.

Pick a channel in Slack
Choose the channel — public or private — to post to. Slack creates an Incoming Webhook scoped to just that channel.

Attach it to monitors
Back in Spectra, the channel is a reusable destination — attach it to the monitors that should alert it.

You're done
Incidents post to Slack automatically. Need another channel? Connect again — each channel gets its own webhook.
Want alerts in a private channel? Just pick it in Slack's channel selector during setup — no bot invite needed. Prefer to skip the connect flow? You can also paste an existing single-channel incoming webhook URL.
Permissions we request
Spectra follows the principle of least privilege. It uses a single Slack Incoming Webhook — the minimal way to post to one channel — plus your basic Slack profile (name & workspace). There's no bot token, and Spectra cannot read your messages, files, or DMs.

Is Spectra for Slack free?

Can I send alerts to more than one channel?
Yes. Each channel connection has its own Incoming Webhook — connect again for each channel (for example #alerts and #ops) and route different monitors to each.
Does connecting give Spectra access to my whole workspace?
No. Authorizing only creates an Incoming Webhook for the single channel you pick — it doesn't give Spectra access to your other channels, messages, or DMs. You can also paste an existing webhook URL instead of connecting.
Does Spectra read my Slack messages?
No. Spectra uses a Slack Incoming Webhook, which can only post to the channel you chose. Spectra stores only the webhook URL — there's no bot token and no access to read your messages, files, or DMs.
How do I remove the integration?
Delete the Slack channel in Spectra, and/or revoke Spectra under Slack → Settings & administration → Manage apps. Either one stops alerts through it immediately.
