Edit Monitor
Change a website monitor's URL, interval, regions, assertions, or pause it — without losing its history.
You can change any setting on a website monitor after it’s created. Its history and incidents are preserved.
Open the monitor
From Monitors, click the monitor you want to change, then choose Edit (or Settings).
What you can change
- Name — rename it at any time; the change is reflected in alerts and reports without affecting history.
- URL — point the monitor at a different page or endpoint.
- Check interval & timeout — adjust how often it runs and how long it waits.
- Regions — add or remove probe locations.
- Assertions — update the expected status code, keyword check, redirect handling, or custom headers.
- Alerts — change which channels it notifies and the alert timing.
Changes take effect from the next check.
Pause instead of edit
If you’re doing planned maintenance and don’t want alerts, pause the monitor rather than deleting it. A paused monitor stops checking and alerting but keeps all its history, and you can resume it any time.
Next steps
- Set up alerts for the monitor.
- Review results in the monitor detail view.
- No longer need it? Delete the monitor.
